First Day at CIOE Exhibition 2026
I personally visit the CIOE Exhibition every year. It is one of the top exhibitions for optical fiber communication and networking technology, and every visit gives us an opportunity to see how quickly the industry is changing.
On the first day of CIOE 2026, we found the optical communication industry becoming even more advanced and highly competitive.
We Came Looking for 100G BiDi 80KM — We Found Technology Up to 12.8T
One of our main interests was to find 100G BiDi solutions reaching up to 80KM. But while exploring the exhibition, we found optical communication technology reaching capacities of up to 12.8T.
While walking through the exhibition and seeing these technologies, this question kept coming to my mind. The global optical communication industry is moving extremely fast, and Nepal's network requirements will also continue to grow.
Exploring Leading Optical Communication Companies
During our first day, we visited and explored technologies from several well-known companies in the optical communication industry.
YOFC – Optical Fiber Cable
We visited YOFC to explore their latest optical fiber and optical fiber cable technologies.
FiberHome – Optical Fiber & Network Solutions
We also explored FiberHome, another well-known company providing optical fiber, optical cable and telecom network solutions.
Eoptolink – High-Speed Optical Transmission
At Eoptolink, our main interest was high-speed optical transmission and transceiver technology.
COMBO OLT – GPON + 10G XGS-PON
Another interesting technology we found at CIOE 2026 was the COMBO OLT.
The COMBO OLT can support both existing GPON and higher-speed 10G XGS-PON services. This gives network operators a practical way to continue serving GPON users while preparing their networks for higher bandwidth requirements.
Our First Day at CIOE 2026
The first day showed us just how quickly optical communication technology is developing.
We came looking for technologies that are important for today's networks, but we also saw technologies that could shape the networks of tomorrow.
