Learn how to upgrade the firmware of HSGQ ONUs using a 2-port GPON OLT. This step-by-step guide by D-Tech Trading covers everything from prerequisites to executing firmware uploads via Web GUI or CLI.


Firmware upgrades are essential to keeping your fiber network devices performing at their best. If you're using an HSGQ 2-port OLT and HSGQ Us, upgrading firmware is now easier than ever. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of updating the ONU firmware directly from the OLT management interface.


What You Need:

  • A 2-Port OLT from HSGQ (e.g., PON02)
  • HSGQ ONUs connected to the OLT (e.g., X200DW models)
  • Firmware file provided by HSGQ (e.g., 1742473638_X200DW_HSGQ_241012.tar)
  • Access to the OLT’s web interface (via IP, username, and password)

 

Step-by-Step Firmware Upgrade Process:

Login to the OLT Interface

  • Open your browser and enter the OLT IP address.
  • Login using your credentials (usually default is root).

Go to Advanced > ONT Batch Upgrade

  • From the left sidebar, navigate to:
    PON Management > ONT Batch Upgrade
  • Here, you’ll see options for uploading firmware and selecting ONUs.

Upload the Firmware File

  • Click “Click to select file” and choose the .tar firmware file.
  • After selecting, click the “Commit” button to upload it to the OLT.
  • You’ll see the file name and size appear once uploaded (e.g., 15.5MB).

Select the Port and ONUs

  • Set the Port ID to the correct PON port (e.g., PON02).
  • The ONUs under this port will be listed below, with details like:
    • ONU ID
    • Serial Number
    • Device Type
    • Vendor ID
    • Current Software Version

 Choose ONUs to Upgrade

  • Tick the checkboxes for the ONUs you want to update.
  • You can also click "All" to select all connected ONUs on that port.

 Start the Upgrade

  • After selecting ONUs, click “Start upgrade”.
  • The upgrade process will begin, and you can track its status under the ONT Upgrade Status tab.
