Why is High Loss Showing in OPM (Optical Power Meter)?
- Connector is not clean (dust or dirt inside).
- Patch cord is not clean.
- Incorrect wavelength selected (1310nm / 1550nm mismatch).
- Poor quality or uncalibrated power meter.
- No proper cleaning practice.
Always carry a fiber connector cleaner.
If connectors are properly cleaned, 90% of high-loss issues are solved.
