MPO Connector – Product Description
An
MPO Connector (short for Multi-Fiber Push On) is a multi-fiber
optical connector designed to terminate and connect multiple optical fiber
cores in one compact interface. Instead of using many single-fiber connectors
(like LC or SC), an MPO packs multiple fibers (e.g., 8, 12, 24, 32, 48)
into a single connector body, greatly increasing link density in fiber optic
systems.
MPO
connectors are widely used in high-density applications such as:
- Data center backbone and
cross-connects
- High-speed Ethernet (40G, 100G,
400G+)
- Enterprise networks
- Telecommunications systems
- Parallel optics and
high-performance computing setups
They
consist of a male side with guide pins and a female side with
matching guide holes, ensuring precise alignment of all the fibers when mated.
